Every day I come across many opinions that SEO promotion no longer works. This, of course, is nothing more than a myth.
I recently attended a meeting where the speaker was an expert who claimed that SEO had lost its effectiveness in the past year. He argued that even such overheated channels as contextual advertising work worse than his method of promotion through bloggers. Well, yes, such reasoning is always interesting, especially when it comes from people who see the world exclusively through their own prism. In the end, each of us shares our thoughts based on personal experience and perception of the situation.
As for my observations, I believe that this is an extremely simplified opinion, and here's why.
Personally, I regularly test various SEO strategies and launch projects in a variety of niches. For example, 7 months ago I started a project in the niche of personal bankruptcy in Russia - a topical topic, especially in an unstable economy. We all know that new domains often fall under the search engine filter, the so-called “Sandbox”, and remain there for about 6 months. However, despite this, I fully SEO-optimized the site and left it unchanged for a long time.
I recently received a message from one of the managers who said that the site, despite its youth, is already bringing in good traffic. This cannot but surprise, because the legal niche is one of the most competitive, and advancement in it requires significant effort and expense. This fact clearly confirms that SEO, even in overheated and complex niches, continues to work.
The site was launched at zero cost (even the domain was free), and I spent about 80 hours developing and SEO optimizing it. The site currently has no external links and is entirely focused on on-page SEO optimization. In the future, I plan to add safe links, direct traffic through social networks and contextual advertising, and use other techniques aimed at improving rankings. I plan to share the results in a couple of months to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.
By the way, someone might think that I am using manipulations with behavioral factors, but this is not so. My approach is extremely honest, with an emphasis on quality optimization.
Finally, I often see many offline businesses struggling while smaller online businesses continue to grow and weather economic challenges. This once again confirms that a properly built online strategy helps you succeed even in the most difficult conditions.
