Website promotion to the TOP (part 4)

Development of landing pages: writing unique meta tags (title, description) for queries from the semantic core (SC)

Effective development of landing pages is an important component of successful SEO optimization, which affects the visibility of the site in search engines and helps attract the target audience. One of the key aspects of this work is writing unique meta tags, such as title and description, taking into account queries from the semantic core.

Unique meta tags play an important role in ensuring that search engines correctly evaluate the content of pages and their relevance to user queries. This helps improve the site's position in search results.

In addition, meta descriptions appear in search results, and well-worded and attractive tags can significantly increase CTR (click-through rate), which also has a positive effect on traffic.

1. Understanding the semantic core (SC)

The semantic core is a set of keywords and phrases that users enter into search engines to find the products or services you offer. Requests can be divided into several types:

  • Informational: queries related to searching for information on a topic (for example, “how to choose a bike”).
  • Navigational: queries containing brands or specific sites (for example, "Peugeot bicycles").
  • Transactional: requests from users who are ready to buy (for example, “buy a mountain bike online”).

2. Writing unique meta tags

a) Meta title tag

The meta title tag is the title of the page that appears in search results. It should contain keywords from your semantic core and be formulated taking into account important principles:

  • Length: the optimal length is 50-60 characters.
  • Keywords: It is important to include the main keyword near the beginning of the title.
  • Uniqueness: Each title must be unique for each page.

Example: If you have a page dedicated to selling mountain bikes, the title could be:

"Buy a mountain bike - The best models of the year | Your Store"

b) Meta Description tag

The description meta tag is a brief description of the page content, which is also displayed in search results. It should be attractive and entice the user to click on the link. Basic principles:

  • Length: Recommended between 150-160 characters.
  • Attractiveness: the description should attract attention and motivate action.
  • Keywords: Include additional keywords, but don't overdo them.

Example: For the same page, the description might look like this:

"Looking for the perfect mountain bike? Check out our models - proven quality and affordable prices. Fast delivery nationwide!"
