SEO tips for successful promotion

Brian Dean shares with us some effective tactics that not only work well now, but will evolve in the coming years.

Publish research content

Bloggers and journalists love working with data, and if you can offer them interesting statistics, surveys or industry research, they will be happy to start linking to your content.

For example, one study published 5 large studies that generated over 2,000 backlinks, was shared nearly 20,000 times, and was viewed by over 200,000 people.

Although creating research content requires significantly more effort than writing a regular article or list, the results can be worth all the effort and provide an excellent return on investment.

Creating visual content (especially conceptual visuals)

Visual content continues to gain popularity, as does video. Recent studies have shown that most marketers are actively using visuals to increase sales, and social networks such as Instagram and Pinterest are only accelerating this trend.

To take advantage of this trend, create more visuals, especially “conceptual visuals.” These are images that can easily be embedded into the content of other sites, and these visuals often result in a lot of backlinks.

An example is a simple image I posted in one of my materials. This image helped me get over 20 backlinks.

Encourage comments and activity in the community

Can comments on a blog affect your search engine rankings? Of course they can. Google has confirmed that site activity plays an important role in ranking.

An active community on a site helps improve visibility and create a positive impact on search rankings. Google will be watching this aspect even more closely this year.

Guest Podcasting to Build Backlinks

Podcasts are a great alternative to guest posting for link building. Instead of writing articles, you simply go live, share your knowledge and get a link back to your site.

Podcasts continue to grow in popularity and are becoming an important source of traffic. This is a great way to get quality links to your site.

Removing zombie pages

One of the simple and effective SEO methods is to remove pages that do not add value to the site. These pages are often called “zombie pages.” Every site has several of these pages, but if there are many of them, it can greatly affect the site's ranking.

Example: on one of the sites, 76 articles were found with low quality content that did not bring traffic. The solution was simple - combine a few articles and delete the rest. After 30 days, organic traffic increased by 16%.

In another case where a large amount of low-quality content was removed, the site saw a 32% increase in traffic after a few weeks as the algorithm began to take into account the changes.

If your site contains such pages, you should consider removing them or improving the content so as not to negatively affect the overall visibility of the site in search engines.
