We conducted an in-depth SEO audit of the websites of 25 real estate agencies in Minsk. The sites were selected from the first pages of the Yandex and Google search engines. Based on this analysis, an SEO optimization rating was compiled. Check out the results below:
The rating reflects only the SEO aspects of websites and is not related to the activities of companies as a whole, but considers their presentation on the Internet. The following criteria were chosen for the analysis: domain age, indexing, link mass, tag optimization, micro markup, online reputation, unique content, site performance, usability and e-commerce. Each site was assessed against these criteria based on their importance. The maximum possible score is 500 points.
Before moving on to the results, let's briefly discuss the state of demand for real estate in Minsk. If you analyze the dynamics of demand for apartments, you will notice its constant growth. This indicates an increased need for real estate agency services.
Half of the sites studied are between two and seven years old. 36% of sites are older. Young sites (less than two years old) - only 12%.
What to do: The age of the site cannot be changed, but if your site is young, you will need to make extra efforts to gain the trust of search engines.
16% of sites do not have Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml files.
40% of sites have duplicate home pages, which can lead to duplication of other pages. 88% of sites show significant indexing bias, where one search engine sees more or fewer pages than another.
What to do: If your site does not have Sitemap and Robots files, set them up immediately. Duplicate pages and indexing problems can be resolved with their help by specifying which pages should be indexed and which should not.
56% of websites have less than 100 referring domains. On average, the site has 173 linking domains, which indicates a significant difference between the leaders and outsiders in terms of link mass.
What to do: Increase your link mass. Posting links on other sites or through link exchanges is one of the effective ways to increase your ranking.
Schema micro-markup helps make ads on the site more visible and informative in search results. However, only 20% of sites have correctly configured micro markup.
What to do: Install micro markup on your website. It's not difficult, but it's important to set it up correctly for key page elements such as phone number, address, ratings, reviews, prices, and photos.
The reputation of sites was assessed by the number of reviews in directories. For 60% of sites, the number of reviews in Google does not exceed 50, and for 76% - only 20 in Yandex.
What to do: Work on increasing the number of positive reviews. Remind your customers to leave reviews as this will increase trust and improve the company's online reputation.
Title and Description tags play an important role in SEO as they appear in search results. However, only 32% of sites have a correctly written Title tag, and 56% have a Description tag. Additionally, only 72% of websites have a single, correct H1 header.
What to do: Be sure to include Title and Description tags on all pages. Use keywords and make them attractive to increase the click-through rate of your pages in search results.
Using the PageSpeed Insight service, we analyzed website performance. If a site scores less than 50 points, this is a bad result, from 50 to 80 points is an average result, and above 80 points is a good result. Most websites have poor performance on mobile devices due to large images and other technical issues.
What to do: Compress images to improve site loading speed. Also check the code for errors, outdated technologies and unnecessary plugins that can slow down the site.
Many sites are mobile-friendly, but there are also some where phone numbers are not clickable and URLs are not human-readable. These elements need to be fixed to improve the user experience.
What to do: Set up clickable phone numbers and make sure URLs are clear and logical. Install an SSL certificate for the security and functionality of your site.
According to the audit results, all websites of Minsk real estate agencies have room for improvement. The leader scored 407 points out of 500 possible. By following our recommendations, you can improve the SEO optimization of your website and increase its ranking in search results.
