We conducted a detailed SEO audit of 30 websites of dental clinics in Minsk, assessing them according to 37 key parameters that are important for SEO. Our sample included sites that occupy positions on the first pages of search results, as well as those that are present on maps. Based on the analysis, a ranking of SEO optimization of these sites was compiled, which is presented below.
This ranking is based solely on SEO parameters and is not related to the overall performance of the companies. It reflects how these sites are presented on the Internet. To form the rating, we took into account such criteria as domain age, indexing, links, meta tags, micro markup, reputation, uniqueness of content, technical characteristics of sites, usability and e-commerce. Each site was rated on each of these criteria, and then an overall score was calculated, weighted by the importance of each parameter. The maximum score for optimization is 500.
Now let's take a closer look at the results of an SEO audit.
Most of the sites in the sample are 10 years or more old. The maximum domain age was 15.2 years, the minimum was 2.2 years.
What to do: It is not possible to change the domain age, but if your site is younger than your competitors, you will need to work hard to promote it. However, domain age is not the most important factor for SEO - there are other parameters that matter much more.
Almost all websites have Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml files. However, problems with duplicate home pages exist on 60% of the sample sites. It is important to remember that duplicate pages can reduce indexing efficiency.
What to do: If you don’t have Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml files, you should ask an SEO specialist to add them. If you already have them, it's important to make sure they're up to date so that search engines can index all important pages correctly. You can use specialized SEO tools to detect duplicate pages.
Most sites have fewer than 100 domains linking to them, while the average site has 128 domains linking to it with over 200 links.
What to do: Links still play an important role in SEO, especially if they come from quality and authoritative sites. At the same time, you need to increase your link mass gradually in order to avoid sanctions from search engines. Use both purchased links and agreements with other site owners to place links.
Schema markup is used by 63% of sites, and OpenGraph is used by 63% of the same sites.
What to do: Implementing micro markup is important to improve the display of your website in search results and social networks. If micro markup has not yet been implemented on your site, you should contact a specialist to add it correctly.
We checked the meta tags on the main page and on the "Caries Treatment" service page. Many websites have optimized meta tags, but some pages lack these tags, reducing visibility in search engines.
What to do: Make sure that meta tags are written on all pages of your site, especially on key ones. Optimize Title and Description in accordance with key queries to increase click-through rates and visibility in search results.
Most sites have less than 50 reviews on Google My Business and less than 25 reviews on Yandex.Business.
What to do: We recommend actively working on getting feedback from real customers. Publishing reviews in Yandex.Business continues to be possible, and this information directly affects the site’s reputation.
Test results using the PageSpeed Insight tool showed that almost all sites have performance issues on mobile devices.
What to do: Major performance improvements can be achieved by optimizing images and getting rid of unnecessary plugins. Use specialized online image compression services to improve site loading times, especially on mobile devices.
SSL certificates are installed on 93% of websites, which increases connection security. Also, most sites have correctly configured CNC and clickable phone numbers.
What to do: Make sure that an SSL certificate is installed on your site and that all contact information, such as phone numbers and addresses, is easily accessible and clickable.
