My name is Anna Olyanaya, I am the CEO of an agency that specializes in SEO optimization and website development for industry and B2B. In this article I want to share one of our successful cases of website promotion in the metal rolling industry.
Features of the project:
- The site was built on the Webasyst platform. This is a fairly rare platform that usually charges a higher price per developer hour. We worked with a team that had previously developed the site, sharing costs with the customer.
- This was the company's second website. Both sites were linked to each other, which in SEO jargon is called affiliation. A search engine may favor only one of these sites, while the other may be completely restricted from accessing search results. This process is called "unsticking".
- At the start of work, less than 5% of the target traffic from the total traffic of 4600 visits. Almost all of the traffic was untargeted, with interest in the topic but no intent to make a purchase.
- The client had outdated ideas about SEO. He was a former SEO specialist himself and watched our successful project for a long time before he trusted us. From the very beginning of the work, there was a little tense cooperation, since the customer believed that he should control all processes. However, when the first results appeared, confidence increased significantly.
- Promoting a website without a verified account in Yandex.Business. This is a significant disadvantage for the trust of search engines in the site.
- The site did not have a full-fledged product catalog. Initially, it was a resource where articles on the topic of rolled metal were published, but there was no current catalog with products.
What we did:
- Prepared and filled out a catalog with current prices. To make working with the catalog easier, we have set up a system for mass updating prices using files, since prices for rolled metal products can change frequently.
- Optimized the site structure. Redesigned the catalog and filtering pages to improve the user experience.

Net target site traffic increased from 68 to 1895 visits (27 times increase) in 7 months. Of these, 3 months were spent on filling out the site.
The growth is shown in the graph, which shows the dynamics of site traffic growth without non-target transitions.
