SEO case: in the TOP for refilling cartridges

Hello! In this case I want to talk about the results of promoting a service for refilling cartridges. The task was to attract traffic and leads to this service from the website of one of our large clients.

At the time of the start of work, a service page already existed, but it did not receive traffic from search engines. The page was created but was not attracting visitors, and the challenge was to change this situation and start getting traffic.

After analysis, I came to the conclusion that the best result can be expected from Google as the search engine search volume was significantly higher compared to others. The main competition was also concentrated in Google.

Goals:

1. Bring high-frequency queries to the TOP of Google.

2. Increase page traffic for the cartridge refilling service.

3. Get leads for the service.

What happened before the start of SEO work

By the time work began, the client had created a page describing the service and collected a small semantic core. Product cards for refilling cartridges were also configured on the page. However, the page was not attracting traffic and ranking in search results was very low.

What has been done

• The first step was to expand the semantic core by adding additional keywords that were relevant to the service.
• Updated meta tags to reflect new semantics.
• I drew up technical specifications for a copywriter and ordered a new text. After writing it, the business owner and I refined the content, making it more focused on the requests and questions of potential clients.
• Evenly placed links on articles to build up the link mass.
• I configured the display of products on pagination pages so that 30 cartridges were displayed on each page. For pagination pages, I set the canonical to the first page.
• I worked on product cards: removed overspam, improved the uniqueness of meta tags, and adjusted the display of product characteristics.
• Added a thematic video to the page from the company’s YouTube channel.
• Optimized the URL structure for this product category.

Results:

4.5 months after the start of work, the results became obvious. I have chosen three intermediate dates to compare positions:

• Getting started.
• After making changes.
• Two months after the changes are indexed by search engines.

For the keywords that we optimized, all positions were in the TOP-3. The highest-frequency request remains in TOP 1 for two months.

Statistics from Yandex Metrics

The graphs show that the main page of the cartridge refilling service began to receive more than 350 unique visitors per month. At the time of writing this case, traffic growth continues.

Statistics from Google Search Console

The entire section for refilling cartridges began to receive more than 600 clicks per month. The main traffic comes from the main page of the service, where high-frequency keywords were worked out. In second place is the "FAQ" page, which attracts traffic for information requests, and product card pages collect low-frequency traffic.

Conclusion
