Martin Splitt, a Google specialist, shared the features of promoting pages with infinite scrolling, giving the example of news sites where content is loaded as the user scrolls the page.
As the user continues to scroll, they may see increasingly older posts. However, the search bot cannot load content beyond the currently visible part of the page, which causes an issue with indexing information. This means that only the content that is already loaded on the page can be indexed, while the rest remains inaccessible to search engines.
Splitt recommends taking a different approach to creating these pages, such as implementing page loading. This solution will improve both the user experience and the ability of search bots to index all content presented on the site.
As for images, lazy loading them using the IntersectionObserver API is acceptable. But for texts, it is important to find a way to ensure that they are loaded in a timely manner if the lazy loading method is used. In this case, it is worth considering the capabilities of JavaScript libraries to ensure that the content loads correctly.
