Parsing data from a website may be needed in various situations, for example, to analyze specific information or collect statistics from web pages. Let's look at how you can effectively parse data using the SEO Spider service, using an example of parsing by categories and images.
To get started, right-click on the image and select “View Code” from the drop-down menu.
Find the image address and copy it by selecting "Copy" and then "Copy full XPath" from the drop-down list.
Now go to the SEO Spider service. In the top menu, select “Configuration”, then in the drop-down menu click on “Custom” and then “Extraction”.
In the window that appears, click “Add” in the lower right corner.
In the top left line labeled “Extractor 1,” enter the name of the section to collect data. You can choose any name.
From the drop-down list, select the XPath upload type.
Paste the copied XPath address into the appropriate line.
In the next menu, select "Extract Element" and click "OK".
We return to SEO Spider and select “Mode” - “List” in the menu.
Click "Upload" at the top of the screen and upload the previously copied URLs.
After parsing is complete, go to the “Overview” section and find the “Custom Extraction” section in the list.
If everything is configured correctly, you will see the name of your section and the number of collected items. A list of URLs and addresses of all images that were found using the specified parameters will appear in the main window.
Now you can remove unnecessary tags and leave only the list of image addresses you need.
A similar algorithm is used to parse other data, such as product categories, prices, names and other characteristics.
