If you want to get a job as an SEO specialist for 50 thousand rubles/month. with no or minimal experience, this article is for you. In it I will tell you how you can find a job in this field and successfully get such a position, despite the lack of significant experience.
What needs to be done? So, let's start by looking for vacancies. Register on popular job search platforms such as hh.ru. I noticed that there are significantly more SEO vacancies there than on other similar resources. Create a resume, fill out an application - everything is as usual. But here’s what’s important: if you indicate in your resume that you promoted high-frequency queries, for example, “seeds by mail” or “car sales,” you will not be asked for confirmation. In most cases, at this salary, employers are looking for SEO specialists to perform standard tasks, and you will be looked at as a performer who simply follows instructions without expecting complex checks.
As I wrote in a previous article, after hiring an SEO specialist, it often turns out that the entire SEO budget is limited only by his salary, and the company is not ready to invest more in promotion. This creates problems, because even with a budget of 150 thousand rubles/month. (including salaries) it will be difficult to compete with larger players who spend 2-3 times more.
The biggest problem is that many companies (especially small and medium-sized ones) do not realize how expensive quality SEO is. This often becomes clear too late, and entrepreneurs realize that they should have invested in a specialist rather than spending money on advertising campaigns.
As for your resume, write it as attractive as possible. Make sure that even if you are not asked to show evidence, you can always explain the lack of real-life examples. For example, you can refer to the NDA or simply say that you no longer work for the company where you completed the project.
With SEO specialists, everything is different than with programmers or designers. Most employers won't be too strict about proving your achievements. Personally, I have a successful interview rate of almost 90% of the time, and very rarely have I been asked to show specific results. Even if someone asks, you can always find an excuse. In general, a resume can be filled out quite creatively, but the proof check is often skipped.
When you start working, you most likely will not be reviewed for positions in the first 2-3 months. You can always tell that working on positions takes time and that you need more time to see results. While you are on probation, there is a chance that you will not be fired, especially if you have an official salary.
If the salary is “gray”, don’t worry. In the worst case, the dissatisfaction will be short-lived, and management will either accept your inefficiency and continue to pay you, or decide to fire you. But this is also unlikely. In any case, even if you are fired, you will gain the necessary experience, and next time it will be easier to get a job.
