Greetings, aspiring SEO specialists! My name is Sergey, and I am an experienced SEO specialist and internet marketer. In this first lesson, I'll share with you the basics of SEO, starting with keywords. I myself started my journey in SEO more than ten years ago, studied a lot on my own, participated in various projects and competitions, and now I want to pass on my knowledge to you. In this course, you will learn how to promote websites using white hat methods approved by search engines and learn how to get traffic that will bring conversions. Ask questions - I will try to answer everything!
If you understand what keywords are, then you will have a much easier time mastering the rest of the SEO course. Knowing key phrases will help you understand the process of website promotion and become a more experienced specialist. So, keywords are words or phrases that users enter into the search bar in order to find information that interests them. This could be information about a product, service or any other topic.
When we talk about the semantic core of a site, we mean the totality of all these key phrases. The more keywords your site covers, the more traffic it can attract if targeted correctly.
In order to find out the semantic core of your website or competitors’ websites, you can use special analysis tools. One of these services allows you to enter the URL of your site or a competitor's site and see what key queries bring traffic to those sites. This will help you understand what keywords are working for you and your competitors, so you can expand your semantic core to get additional traffic.
In addition, with the help of such an analysis you can see what queries your competitors have, but you don’t. This is important information because you can add new pages to your site, as well as optimize old ones in order to attract additional traffic. Thus, expanding the semantic core is an important step for site growth and increasing traffic.
This concludes the lesson. In the next lesson we will look at what key phrases exist depending on the frequency and competitiveness of queries.
