Referr collected the opinions of more than 50 experts to find out how they work in a crisis and what they pay attention to first.
Among the participants are leading experts such as Mikhail Shakin, Vasily Tkachev, Alexander Alaev, as well as representatives of our agency, who also answered questions.
The questions were divided into four categories: general, about SEO strategy, Western segment and personal.
What stack of tools are you currently using to organize your team's remote work?
We use Planfix CRM and Telegram to coordinate the work of our team.
How has remote work impacted the effectiveness of your team and you personally?
I haven’t noticed any changes for the team as a whole, we continue to work as usual. For me personally, it is more difficult to work at home, since there is no suitable workspace, but otherwise there are no changes.
How do priorities change in SEO strategy?
SEO has always been a long-term strategy, and a crisis or external disasters do not change the order of actions and the content of the work. However, the crisis may affect clients' budgets, which may affect the quality and quantity of work - for example, using cheaper copywriters or reducing the volume of content.
Should you invest in event-based content or is it better to focus on evergreen?
It all depends on the goals of the project. If the goal is to launch quickly, I prefer to start with simple content. It is better to do something minimal and then continue to improve than to do nothing. But it is always important to maintain a balance, since savings in some cases can result in large costs in the future.
How can online stores choose the right products to promote during a crisis?
Ideally, you need to look for products that are in demand, have good margins, and do not have too much competition. However, this situation rarely happens, so it is important to look for a middle ground.
How do you reformat relationships with clients working in the niches most affected by the crisis?
If this is an important client with whom we have been cooperating for a long time, we offer good discounts or simply freeze projects until better times. We do not try to put pressure on clients and do not use harsh methods. It is best to work with them as a partnership, supporting them in difficult times.
How can a business come out of the crisis stronger?
During a crisis, it is important to increase efficiency; this often requires optimizing staff, having working capital and creating ecosystems so as not to depend on one source of income or market.
If you have several profitable sites, should you focus on them or continue to invest in new projects?
In my opinion, it is better to diversify risks by investing in different projects. This will help reduce risks and create additional sources of income if one of the sites ceases to be profitable.
Have you begun to devote more time to self-development during the crisis? Are you learning new skills?
No, I still have enough work to devote more time to self-education. Time is no longer than before.
Do you want to work remotely after the crisis or is the romance of remote work overrated?
Actually no, but the main thing is that life does not force me to do this.
