How did we bring the site to the TOP 1 of search results? A successful case of search engine promotion in two regions.

Client:

Manufacturer of underwear. The task was to promote an online store in Google and Yandex search results, taking into account two regions.

Preliminary preparation:

Before starting work, we agreed with the client to create copies of the site for each region in order to more effectively take into account regional characteristics. This avoided the problem of users not wanting to go to a site with a foreign domain, and also improved SEO results.

We ended up with two websites with domains for different regions, which allowed us to carry out more targeted promotion work.

Initially, we corrected technical errors of both sites in order to prepare them for more effective promotion, since without this, SEO work would have been useless. Next, we focused on off-page optimization, increasing site authority and link mass.

Work progress:

  • We collected a semantic core taking into account the characteristics of the regions and used it to optimize categories and subcategories.
  • We optimized Title and Meta tags for product pages and information pages, including unique texts and keywords.
  • We set up proper indexing by updating the robots.txt and sitemap.xml files so that search robots correctly index the site pages.
  • We registered the site in Yandex and Google webmaster services, sent important pages for indexing, and also excluded unnecessary technical pages from indexing.
  • We configured schema.org micro-markup to improve the visibility of pages in search results, adding, for example, product ratings in snippets.
  • We carried out internal linking, improving the site structure and providing better behavioral factors.
  • We optimized company profiles in search engines and added information to regional directories to attract additional traffic.
  • To build up the link mass, we posted articles and links on authoritative resources.
  • We created content by writing unique descriptions for categories and subcategories with the addition of key phrases.
  • We placed links to website pages on social networks to attract additional traffic.
  • We prepared technical specifications for the client to eliminate errors, expand functionality and improve usability.

Result:

After a few months, the number of pages indexed in search engines increased significantly, and the site's position improved. For example, for key queries the site rose to TOP-3 and TOP-5, and for other queries - from TOP-100 to TOP-30.

For the Belarusian version of the site, 16 queries were included in the TOP-1.

The dynamics of positions showed an overall improvement, which is confirmed by an increase in visibility and traffic from search engines.

Conclusions:

To successfully promote a website and increase sales through search engines, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the industry, the characteristics and requirements of the region. The results of SEO work become noticeable 4-6 months after the start of work, depending on the specific topic and the allocated budget.
