Rating of SEO optimization of online pharmacies and online stores of health products

We conducted a detailed SEO audit of the websites of 12 online pharmacies and online stores of health products, which occupy leading positions in search results for queries related to the purchase of medicines and medical products. All sites were examined taking into account the geographical location in Minsk, and most of them belong to Minsk companies.

After completing the analysis, an SEO optimization rating was compiled. The following are its results.

Domain age

The average age of sites is 9.5 years. Some resources are younger, less than 2-3 years old, while others have been around for more than 10 years.

What to do: If your site is relatively new, make an effort to actively optimize it for SEO. For other sites, it is important to continue to maintain intensive promotion, since domain age is not the only success factor.

Indexing

There are two aspects to indexing: positive and negative. The positive thing is that all sites contain Robots and Sitemap files, which are important for proper indexing. However, 83% of sites have duplicate home pages, which can interfere with correct indexing.

What to do: Ensure that your Robots and Sitemap files are up to date and that there are no duplicate pages. Duplicates can be physically removed or hidden from indexing through these files, which is the responsibility of an SEO specialist.

Link mass

The majority of sites (58%) have fewer than 100 domains linking to them. On average, 111 resources link to one site, and a total of 271 external links are established.

What to do: Constantly increase your link mass, starting with one link per week. After a few weeks, you can add 2 links per week. At the same time, give preference to quality resources and sites that relate to your topic or related areas.

Tag optimization

Title and Description tags play a key role in SEO, as they are taken into account when ranking and displayed in SERP snippets. However, only 33% of sites have optimized these tags, and only a quarter of sites have an H1 header on their pages.

Availability of micro markup

Schema and OpenGraph micro markup is present on 17% and 67% of sites, respectively.

Some sites have usability problems: 17% of sites do not provide clickable contact numbers, and the same number of resources lack targeted actions, such as purchasing a product or leaving contacts.

What to do: Ensure that all contact information is clickable and works correctly. Make sure that users can easily complete targeted actions on the site.

The niche of online pharmacies and health product stores in Belarus has great potential for SEO promotion. All sites have significant growth points in various aspects of optimization.
