Keyword frequency - SEO lesson No. 2

Hello SEO students! In this lesson we will look at one of the most important aspects of SEO promotion - the frequency of key phrases. The more accurately you understand search volume, the more effectively you can optimize your content. This lesson is important for anyone who strives to become a true SEO expert.

FREQUENCY OF KEY PHRASES

Keyword frequency is a metric that reflects how often a keyword is used in search engines over a given period of time, usually a month.

If you use the classification proposed by a well-known SEO expert, then queries can be divided into three categories: high-frequency (HF), mid-frequency (MF) and low-frequency (LF).

HIGH FREQUENCY REQUESTS - HF

RF queries are those that are requested by search engine users more than 10,000 times per month (with loose compliance). Such requests are very popular and have a high level of competition.

MID-FREQUENCY REQUESTS - MF

MF queries are queries that are entered by users from 1000 to 10,000 times a month (also with non-strict compliance). Such phrases have less competition than HF, but still remain quite popular.

LOW FREQUENCY REQUESTS - LF

Low frequency queries are key phrases that are used less than 1000 times per month. These are more specific queries for which there is usually less competition, but the traffic may also not be as significant.

Of course, any classification is conditional, and each SEO specialist can offer his own system. For example, I believe that in addition to the main categories, there may also be micro-LF or mini-LF queries, as well as ultra-high frequency queries (UHF), but these are more detailed categories that can be used as needed.

EXAMPLES OF HIGH, LF AND MID KEY PHRASES

In order to see the frequency of key phrases, you can use various tools, for example, search query statistics. Let's say if you want to estimate the frequency of the query "website promotion", you will see that this query is often used, more than 80,000 times a month, which makes it high-frequency.

And if you add a regional link, for example, “site promotion in Moscow,” then the frequency will decrease to 3,800, which will already be a mid-frequency request.

If you enter “cheap website promotion,” then the frequency of this request will be only about 600 times a month, which makes it low-frequency.

Requests with a frequency of 10 to 100 per month can be called mini-LF, and requests with a frequency of less than 10 are micro-LF. Requests with a frequency of more than 10,000 can be classified as ultra-high frequency (UHF).

WHAT IS EXACT AND INACCURATE REQUEST RATE

The request frequency can be viewed in two versions: accurate and inaccurate. Untouched frequency (without quotes and exclamation marks) is shown as a general query, while exact frequency (with quotation marks and exclamation marks) shows more precise data about queries that match the specified wording.

Using qualifying operators such as quotation marks and exclamation marks allows you to more accurately understand how often a particular phrase is searched and helps predict traffic for contextual advertising or organic search results. This is also important for further SEO forecasting.

AUXILIARY TECHNIQUES AND OPERATORS

When working with query analysis, you can use additional operators that expand search capabilities:

"Or" operator (the “|” symbol) is useful when you need to compare several phrases or select semantics for the page.

Square Brackets Operator (“[]” symbols) record the order of words in the query and can help in analyzing phrases with similar words.

Operator "Plus" (the "+" symbol) is used to search for queries with stop words such as prepositions and conjunctions.

Operator "Minus" (the “-” character) excludes queries containing certain words.

Operator "Grouping" ("()" symbols) allows you to group different operators for more precise analysis.

These operators can make it much easier to find the right key phrases and analyze them.

There are also various ways for Google to analyze the frequency of queries, such as word selection and statistics services that can be used to work with search engines.
