Before learning a new profession or skill, it is wise to evaluate how much income it can bring. I've looked at different skill levels and job locations to present the salary range for SEO professionals.
Based on my own experience and the experience of friends, I can say that salaries for beginner SEO specialists are usually quite low. However, if we take into account the speed of mastering the profession and the real benefits that this specialist can bring, the result is significantly superior to other areas.
Without further ado, let's proceed to a detailed analysis.
According to various sources, SEO agencies have the following salary levels:
A) For a beginner without experience
The salary at this level is about 30,000 rubles per month. This is a trainee or assistant specialist position. At the internship stage, it is not profitable for a company to keep a specialist who is not yet making a profit, so the main goal is to quickly train him and prepare him for independent work so that he becomes a valuable employee.
B) For specialists with at least 1 year of experience
For specialists with a minimum of one year of experience, you can expect a salary in the range of 60,000–100,000 rubles per month. This is true for small cities such as Tula. In large cities, for example, in Moscow, salaries will be higher.
B) For specialists with at least 3 years of experience
For more experienced specialists with three years of experience, the salary can reach 120,000 rubles or more per month.
Earning money from freelancing depends on your ambitions and the amount of work you are willing to take on. You can take on a large number of low-paying projects or a few high-paying ones. One-time tasks through freelance exchanges are also possible.
The number of projects you can take on is up to you. This can be just one project per month or dozens (if you are willing to work to the maximum).
Some companies do not prohibit their employees from freelancing. This is a convenient scheme when you have a stable income from working in an agency, and you can take on several additional projects to earn money for something big, for example, a new gadget or renovation.
Thus, you can earn about 100,000 rubles in an agency and add another 50,000–100,000 rubles (or even more) in freelancing, which gives a significant income.
Many people may think that such amounts are something incredible, but this is the problem: while others choose more popular professions such as performance marketing or web development, I continue to earn money because the SEO market is still empty and there is huge potential.
