Google Read Aloud is a user agent for the Google Read Aloud service. This service allows you to play web pages using the technology of speech synthesis (TTS). The service is activated when the user includes TTS and visits the page. The Read Aloud service is used in Google Go, Google Read It, Read Aloud functions in the Google application and other Google services to convert text into speech.
Google Read Aloud is activated at the request of the user. The Read Aloud service saves throughput by caching the results of the pages, but you can still see a few requests for one page.
Google Read Aloud is not a web crauling: it is activated at the request of the user and should not be in links. A user's request to listen to a web page may or cannot lead to a page visit, depending on whether the page was loaded recently.
Since the Google Read Aloud is activated at the request of the user, and is not the result of automatic indexing, you cannot disable it using the Robots.txt file. To completely exclude Google Read Aloud, use meta-tag nopageadaloud:
<meta name="google" content="nopagereadaloud">
To prevent reading with paid access, use structured data for subscription and paid materials. Make sure the property ISACCESSIBLEFORFREE set in a value False.
The Google-Speakr agent is a more old, outdated version of the user agent. The current name of this agent is Google Read Aloud.
