The task of website owners is to bring their resource to high positions in search results. To do this, some use white-hat promotion methods, while others decide to resort to black-hat methods just to make sure their site is in the TOP.
Search engines have long learned to detect dishonest manipulation by regularly updating their algorithms. They try to exclude sites that use dubious promotion methods and give preference only to high-quality optimized resources. Despite this, new ways of black promotion are still emerging.
Black hat promotion methods that we DO NOT recommend:
- Spam. You shouldn't place links to your site in places where it doesn't make sense. For example, advertising hookahs on a forum dedicated to mothers is clearly overkill. Mention your resource only where appropriate.
- Exchange and purchase of links. Since 2013, search engines began to actively combat unnatural links. Many website owners have faced sanctions such as Minusinsk. Links should be of high quality and thematically relevant to your site, and not just bought in bulk.
- Doorways and cloaking. A doorway is a website created with the purpose of redirecting users to the main website through a redirect. Such pages are often filled with meaningless, keyword-rich text. Search engines strictly punish the use of such methods.
- Placing invisible or poorly visible text. This is one of the most popular black hat SEO techniques, but it can result in penalties from search engines. The principle is simple: if the text is invisible or poorly visible to users, it is excluded from the search.
- Cheating of behavioral factors. In the past, boosting PF could improve a site’s position, but today search engines are able to detect artificial actions. This can only do harm.
- Spamming the text with key queries. Trying to force a page to rank by using too many keywords is a mistake that leads to filters. Optimal approach: 1 keyword per 300-500 characters.
- Lots of links and buttons on the main page. This is permissible only if there is a real need. Overloading the home page with too many elements degrades the experience.
- Flash animation. Websites built entirely in Flash are almost impossible to promote in search engines. If you want to get to the TOP, avoid using Flash on your site.
Every website owner should remember that the goal is not only to promote your resource, but also to make it useful to users. The quality of content, its convenience for visitors and correct optimization are important elements that will help your site grow in search results.
Some tips on how to promote your website:
- Pay attention to the site design. The color palette should be harmonious, avoid sharp contrasts. Create a user-friendly menu so that users can easily navigate your site.
- Optimize your content wisely. This includes compiling a semantic core, optimizing texts, meta tags and other elements on the page.
- Configure all technical parameters of the site. Make sure your URLs contain keywords and your sitemap.xml and robots.txt files are configured correctly. It is also worth taking care of redirects and excluding duplicate pages.
- Add your site to the webmaster tools of popular search engines. This will help speed up indexing and identify possible problems with the resource.
- Increase the recognition of your website on the Internet. Registering with online maps, directories, and other authoritative sources will help users find your information.
- Increase your link mass. Use crowd marketing methods, but make sure that the links come from high-quality, thematic sites.
- Develop a mobile version of the site. More and more users are accessing the Internet via mobile devices, so your advantage will depend on how well your site displays on smartphones and tablets.
- Use SMM promotion. Creating groups on social networks and promoting them is not only useful, but also effective in attracting traffic to the site.
- Don't forget to monitor the status of the site. Update your content regularly and pay for hosting and domain on time. If a site becomes unavailable, its reputation will be negatively affected.
These recommendations can be adapted for different types of sites, be it online stores or information portals. Each resource has its own promotion features, and it is important to take them into account in a strategic plan.
